Finding the right tire for your vehicle is important. Not only are there a few different options to consider, but each type of tire also offers unique benefits. It’s for these reasons that knowing even just a basic amount of information about tire types is important.

So what makes certain tires different? Which type of tire should you invest in?

All Season Tires

Here in Virginia, this is the type of tire you will probably use the most. These the type of tires that vehicles arrive with at our dealership. They also are very versatile on the road. They can perform well on dry roads, wet roads, and even roads with a small amount of snow. They don’t offer you the specific benefits of summer tires or winter tires, but they offer you decent reliability.

Winter Tires

If you plan on driving up to New York in the winter, you’ll want some winter tires on hand. Winter tires are specifically designed to handle cold weather and snow. The rubber has a variety of thin cuts to help you gain traction. They also are made from a special rubber that remains flexible in cold weather.

Summer Tires

Also known as performance tires, summer tires offer you more traction and control in warmer weather. They tend to have better traction on dry and wet roads. They also offer great cornering and braking control.
